A message from Lady Crane
People often say “I don’t know my purpose or what am I supposed to do?”.. It’s simple, make a difference. It is usually on funeral programs and headstones we see the date one is born and the date one dies. There is no indication as to what happens between the date except the legacy you live that can be spoken of. What will your dash mean to those you leave behind? Paul says in Philippians 3:13, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended it, but this one thing I do: forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” |
In 2016, don’t keep focusing on past defeats or victories because what’s before you will be new, therefore, you will experience new defeats and new victories. Start reaching for what God has for you in this season. Bitterness, anger, and offenses cannot make the trip in this season. Leave those bags behind so that you can carry that which God has for you. One definition of resolution is a solution, accommodation, or settling of a problem, controversy, etc. Don’t make resolutions, make commitments. Usually our solution comes from our flesh and our accommodations and settling usually involves compromise.
So what’s before you? You have the opportunity to show God’s glory, grace, and goodness. I encourage you to not operate this year in last year’s mindset if it was one that did not reflect the character of God. Be intentional about the life you will live before others. Why? How you live is often indicative of how you love God. How you love God, may be the determining factor as to how someone who doesn’t know Jesus decides if it’s worth changing their life. I believe this year in spite of what we see going on will be a year of God’s increase in His grace and love for us. Make a commitment to impact and influence the lives of others. After all, it really isn’t about you. It amazes me how God chooses us as a vessel to be used when we avail ourselves. 2016….let it be a year of availability!
